THE FEEL WAY WAY BETTER CLUB

A Way Way Better coach helps three smiling women ease into cold water by the river

EXAMPLE ONLY: A TASTE OF WHAT’S INSIDE THE CLUB

This page shows the kind of guides, local sessions and coach support members find inside the Club. The sessions below are examples, not bookable events.

Cold Plunges

Cold Plunges

Brave, bracing, and better with friends.

A cold plunge means sitting in cold water — usually 7 to 15°C — for a minute or two. People do it to feel alert, to manage stress, or for the quiet pride of doing something brave. It's also a lot less scary when someone you know is standing right beside the tub.

What the research says

A 2025 review of 11 trials with about 3,200 healthy adults found:

  • Less stress about 12 hours later

  • Some improvement in sleep and quality of life

  • No clear change in mood

It's promising, low-cost and fun — not a cure for anything. Members get our full plain-language guide, including how to do your first plunge safely.

Before you try it

Cold water causes a sudden gasp and a spike in heart rate and blood pressure. Please talk to your doctor first if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, Raynaud's, diabetes, a history of fainting, or are pregnant. Never plunge alone.

EXAMPLE: WHAT A LOCAL SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Example: two beginner sessions (6 people each)

Fri, Oct 30 at 4:00 pm (indoor) and Fri, Nov 6 at 1:00 pm (outdoor)

Indoor at The Point Spa, outdoor at Prince's Island Park

Indoor: a warm, comfortable first plunge at The Point Spa, perfect if you’ve never tried one. Outdoor: a short, supervised dip in the Bow River at Prince’s Island Park for a real Calgary adventure. Each session is limited to 6 people so everyone gets attention from the host. Sessions like these are posted for members inside the Club.
